Overview

This course covers topics related to wound care, including basic anatomy and physiology of the skin, wound assessment, pressure ulcer stages, wound healing, wound bed preparation, treatment options, wound management techniques, prevention of pressure ulcers, multidisciplinary wound care teams, acute surgical wound healing, differentiating between wound etiologies and clinical manifestations, adjunctive treatment modalities, multidisciplinary care approaches, wound documentation, and more. Participants will learn to select treatment options based on wound assessment, etiology, and goals of wound care. Upon completion, learners will be able to effectively assess, manage, and optimize wound care interventions, ensuring optimal healing outcomes.

Upon 100% completion, learners will be awarded a Certification of Completion co-signed by Thieme and the German Nursing Federation (Deutscher Pflegerat).
