Infection Prevention and Control: Building Safe Healthcare Environments

Overview

This course provides an overview of infection prevention and control in healthcare, including hand hygiene, personal protective equipment, standard precautions, and additional precautions. It covers transmission-based precautions, isolation procedures, and policies for reusable and single-use equipment. Modules also discuss how infection control is applied in different hospital departments and patient illnesses through infection control risk assessment. Upon completion, learners will be confident in implementing effective infection control and prevention measures, reducing the risk of healthcare-associated infections in clinical settings. 

Upon 100% completion, learners will be awarded a Certification of Completion co-signed by NUS, Thieme and the German Nursing Federation (Deutscher Pflegerat).
